Old Town Cape, Inc. currently has a 15-member Board of Directors, and we believe it’s time you meet them! Get to know Don Greenwood below.
Tell us a bit about yourself (job, family, hobbies, etc.)
I’m retired with five children and 12 grandchildren. I enjoy art, kayaking, and hiking.
What is your current role on the OTC Board and how long you have served?
Board member since 2013. I also serve on the Design Committee and Mural Committee.
What special perspective/qualities do you believe you bring to the Board?
Because of my age, I have a fairly good recall of the history of the area and the organization.
What do you love most about Downtown Cape?
Obviously the proximity to the river and the people! I love the merchants who have believed in downtown and fought to make it what it is today. We have a close-knit downtown neighborhood group.
Where is your favorite place to go when you’re downtown?
Port Cape Girardeau, The Library, antique shops, Broussard’s, Bella Italia, Gabriel’s, Katy O’ Ferrell’s, Heritage Hall, Blue Diamond, Rude Dog, Minglewood Brewery, Ebb and Flo, Zickfield’s, Top of the Marq, etc. It’s too hard to narrow it down since we have so many great places!
What’s your favorite Old Town Cape event?
Tunes at Twilight and the Cape Riverfront Market.
