Tell us a little about yourself! Or how would you describe yourself?
I am a real blend of my parents. Part of me is a creative spirit and musical. The other side is business minded and focused on getting things done the right way. The mix keeps me from getting too far out there either way.
What’s your idea of happiness?
To me happiness comes with healthiness and living an honest life, because I want to be the best I can be for my family. Watching my littles one play and learn about life is a real joy. I also believe in reserving some relaxation time!
How are you connected to Downtown Cape Girardeau?
My parents moved the jewelry store (CP McGinty Jewelers) to Main St. When I was a kid. After school I would come down to the shop for a couple hours each day. I got to meet all the business owners and employees of just about every store, restaurant, ice cream parlor etc. That grew a merchant spirit in me that carries through to today. The business has evolved over the last 36 years to be a really great thing.
What do you love about our community?
I love all of the great resources we have locally, along with the creative essence of the historic downtown. Cape is also pretty diverse for a smaller town, which is good thing.
What would you like to see added or improved downtown?
I really like the recent improvements to the sidewalks, roads and lighting. I would love to see a stop to the graffiti that is always popping up.
Besides Downtown Cape, where’s your favorite place to be?
In my downtime, I like to be around water. The beach is always calling my name.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I’m almost completely ambidextrous. Random huh?
