Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is a nationwide initiative that was started by American Express in 2010. Since it’s inception Downtown Cape Girardeau has celebrated this much needed Holiday shopping event with joy. The whole idea is to support our local merchants the day after Black Friday. Of course, we suggest shopping local all the live-long year, but Small Business Saturday sets aside a special day to shop locally with extra holiday cheer and intention.
Old Town Cape encourages you to Shop Small on Saturday, November 28 in #DowntownCG!
The Parade of Lights
The Parade of Lights takes place annually on the Sunday after Thanksgiving at dusk. People come from all over Southeast Missouri to watch the best Christmas Parade around march down Broadway and Main Streets in Downtown Cape Girardeau.
Due to rising cases of Covid-19 in Cape Girardeau County, Old Town Cape has decided to cancel the parade in 2020 and hopes to bring back this well-loved holiday event in 2021!
