Old Town Cape Christmas Tree Lighting

Kick off the holiday season in #DowntownCG with Old Town Cape, Inc. at our Christmas Tree Lighting event!

On Friday, November 27, at 6:20 p.m., spectators can watch Santa & Mrs. Claus light our thirty-foot Christmas tree that will be housed in the Vasterling Suites Courtyard for the duration of the Christmas in Downtown season! Live music from the Jerry Ford Ensemble and Christmas caroling will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will continue after the tree has been lit. KFVS12 will be live-broadcasting this event for folks who would prefer to watch from the comfort and safety of their homes.

This event is proudly brought to you by Banterra Bank and Top of the Marq.

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is a nationwide initiative that was started by American Express in 2010. Since it’s inception Downtown Cape Girardeau has celebrated this much needed Holiday shopping event with joy. The whole idea is to support our local merchants the day after Black Friday. Of course, we suggest shopping local all the live-long year, but Small Business Saturday sets aside a special day to shop locally with extra holiday cheer and intention.

Old Town Cape encourages you to Shop Small on Saturday, November 28 in #DowntownCG!

The Parade of Lights

The Parade of Lights takes place annually on the Sunday after Thanksgiving at dusk. People come from all over Southeast Missouri to watch the best Christmas Parade around march down Broadway and Main Streets in Downtown Cape Girardeau.

Due to rising cases of Covid-19 in Cape Girardeau County, Old Town Cape has decided to cancel the parade in 2020 and hopes to bring back this well-loved holiday event in 2021!
