Old Town Cape, Inc. currently has a 15-member Board of Directors, and we believe it’s time you meet them! Get to know Kelly Green below.
Tell me a bit about yourself (job, family, hobbies, etc.)
I’m Kelly Green, owner of KLG Engineering (located in Downtown Cape), wife of Zach, and mom to Liam (15), Nolan (13), and Harper (7). We are a St. Vincent de Paul Parish and School and Notre Dame Family. Our kiddos are quite active in sports and we love to watch them play – Go SVS Bobcats and ND Bulldogs! In my spare time, I enjoy reading, creating art or crafts, and of course traveling. Oh, and I love yoga!
What is your current role on the OTC Board and how long have you served?
I’ve been a member of the OTC Board since February 2020.
Why did you choose to join the OTC Board?
I’ve always loved our downtown! There are many fantastic people on the OTC Board. I wanted to work with them to help continue to make our downtown a great place to live, work, and play. Also, I know that when our downtown thrives our community thrives as well.
What special perspective/qualities do you believe you bring to the Board?
I have experience in municipal government and economic development. When I am wearing that hat, I think I bring an interesting perspective. Of course, I also have my travel-hat and my mom-hat, that I tend to wear when I’m listening to OTC conversations as well.
What do you love most about Downtown Cape?
I love working downtown. Occasionally, we have “walking meetings” where we can walk through the grounds of the River Campus or along the River Walk. Exercising and working – now that’s multitasking at its finest! And there are always great choices for lunch!
Where is your favorite place to go when you’re downtown?
The restaurants! There are so many delicious choices.
What’s your favorite Old Town Cape event?
I love the Cape Riverfront Market on Saturdays! Pork burgers, donuts, coffee… After writing this, I’m thinking that maybe I should have added “foodie” to my list of hobbies.
